Tonight as I wash my hands
I will meditate on this:

This soap in my hands
It did not drop from the heavens
It did not materialize out of nothingness

Thousands of years ago
Someone invented soap
The recipe was shared and refined
Until all over the world
People used soap and received its blessings

Hundreds of years ago
Someone thought of a way to manufacture soap
And others worked to distribute it
Until all over the world
People used soap and received its blessings

I thank everyone past and present
Who have put this soap in my hands
So that at this moment
I may receive its blessings
That help save my life.

And let us say, Amen.
