Here we are all of us in America hunkering down at home practicing being safe…staying 6 feet apart from others, washing our hands a lot without mentioning how chapped they get… using sanitizer obsessive compulsively… going to the market only when necessary at the senior morning hour… and not running around…

So…I made up my mind I was going to make this new isolation be a glass half full experience rather than a glass half empty one…I made up my mind I was going to contact people throughout my life (that I hoped might still be alive) that I haven’t connected with for years.. say hello …ask…

“How are you doing?  I’m sorry I haven’t connected with you sooner…but I’ve been doing a lot of self-introspection and soul searching and realized that I forgot about a lot of friendships…”

What an incredible experience this has turned out to be…the responses have been so touching, so rewarding…from a long lost producer who ended up on bad terms with me years ago to a new chapter of re connection… remembering only the good that came from our involvement…

A cousin who I haven’t spoken to in almost 30 years…so happy to hear from me…sharing lots of family stories for those lost years…

The list goes on and on…Some didn’t call me back…but I remember the saying, “it isn’t the results that count it’s the journey” and the rewards of reaching out to say hello have brightened my days and make me realize that yes, we strive to accomplish things in life but it’s the connections we’ve made in life even with those we forgot or didn’t want to remember that we really must not forget…This decision to connect with others has become so gratifying…and freeing of resentments…This time in my life has brought me
back to keeping it simple…
